Due to COVID-19 and the alert level the UK is on, all non-essential travel needs to stop. Therefore we are recalling all Spaceships Motorhomes and Campervans on the road now. Please return them to your nearest branch in London, Dublin or Edinburgh.

Taking advice from the WHO and Public Health England, we would recommend the following common sense best practice to protect yourself and minimise the risk of contracting the Coronavirus at home or on your travels to the UK or elsewhere.

  • Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds - this kills viruses
  • Catch coughs & sneezes in a disposable tissue and bin it
  • Avoid touching your nose, mouth & eyes
  • Keep at least 1 metre between yourself and someone who is coughing & sneezing

Symptoms of the virus are similar to 'flu, with coughing, sneezing, high temperatures and some shortness of breath. It is estimated that 80% of patients contracting the virus will recover fully without medical attention. The body's immune system will combat the virus.

Those most at risk of more severe illness as a result of contracting the virus are the elderly and those with an existing medical condition such as diabetes, asthma, heart disease or high blood pressure.

We recommend our vehicles to be used for self isolation purposes only.


As an experienced and well established rental company, Spaceships is adhering to all guidelines provided by official health authorities on COVID-19 as well as continuing to clean our vehicles using industry-grade anti-bacterial cleaning agents. All our linen is cleaned by a professional dry cleaning company who follow the most stringent guidelines.

Pick up/Branches

To minimise the risk of this spreading, we are reducing in-person contact with our suppliers, employees and customers as a precaution. There will be no in-person contact with Spaceships Staff at any branch. Our staff have also been trained on appropriate hygiene practices, including hand cleanliness. We meet people from all over the world in our branches, therefore, implementing preventative measures like these should play a part in stopping the spreading of the virus. 

Any pickup and drop off will be done via key boxes (our standard procedure for out of opening hours pickups) - we have had over 1000 hires picked up in this way for our customers and have never had any issues with this - a lot of our customers sometimes prefer this as it means they can pick up whenever they wish to as we'll have the vehicle ready by the time you have stated but you can come later if you wish.
